The University of Edinburgh MBA program was looking to spice up their program by adding a new dimension to their personal leadership and team development curriculum. The school has a long history of providing a top quality MBA program to a very international audience.
Leadership and team development were not traditionally a focus in the MBA program and the school understood that this was an important addition to their already highly rated curriculum. Not able to find what they were looking for in the UK the school approached Summit to partner on this project.
Summit delivered this program for 4 years. This was such an amazing program to design and deliver. Summit developed a 5-day program that combined the best elements of traditional classroom teaching and an experiential approach. We took the students to the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland and used the mountain wilderness as part of our classroom.
We set the stage with classroom based teaching with content that included team development theory, emotional intelligence, case studies, leadership style and so much more. We augmented this with engaging and exciting experiential activities that brought all the learning to life. Individual and team assignments help to solidify the learning and a final all-day search and rescue simulation closed the session with a bang.
